A fibre cut (severely damaged cable) at the Tauranga Harbour Bridge has impacted services provided off the Te Puke, Maketu, Paengaroa and Papamoa Beach 4G Rural Broadband Initiative towers. The cut has also impacted a number of copper network users. Due to the location of the fault and health and safety reasons technicians have stated this will be a difficult and time-consuming repair. Customers who normally connect to these towers may find themselves with either degraded service (as modems are now connecting off other towers in the area with weaker signal) or complete loss of service. No ETA on the resolution at this stage, but we'll keep this status page updated.
