Rotorua Lakes District Maintenance: Rotorua Wireless

30min outage expected while we install new replacement power system.

  • South Waikato District Rural Wireless Waotu & Wiltsdown outage

    Powerco are investigating a power outage across the district, which is affecting our services.

  • We’ve observed services restored.

  • Service unlikely to be restored until 3pm due to Powerco work at our fibre uplink. We will monitor closely.

    Heavy Weather Alert Heavy Weather Alert

    We're observing rain fade at some of our sites, which will be causing degraded service. Once the thunderstorm passes we expect service to resume normally. We are working on a project, due to be completed by the end of June to upgrade the dishes on our Rotorua service - this will mean less susceptibility to heavy rain in the future.

    We're investigating a fault at the Matapan Road repeater.

  • Service restored.

  • Planned power work at the site where pick up a fibre connection from. Unfortunately, the planned work notice wasn't passed to us. Service will be restored this afternoon.

    Rotorua Lakes District Rotorua Rural Wireless Fault

    Observed problems with our fibre uplink at Rotorua. Technician is investigating.

  • We’ve put in a temporary fix and aren’t expecting another fault in the short term. However we do expect an outage on Thursday morning while we install a permanent fix.

  • We are expecting to have service restored by 11am. However there may be short periods of no service after this time as we replace faulty equipment.

  • The fault has reoccurred so we have a technician heading back to the fibre uplink to carry out investigation. Next update by 10am.

  • Technician has reset circuit breaker at fibre uplink, restoring services. An investigation into the cause of the fault will be carried out tomorrow.

  • Technician enroute to investigate fibre uplink fault, next update by 10pm.
